Abstract:

Three typescript letters, two in Spanish and one in English, from the president of Mexico, Alvaro Obregón, to the governor of Texas, Pat Neff, containing a series of requests for the release of 8 Mexican nationals imprisoned in Texas including Jesús M. Rangel, Charles Cline, Jesús González, and Abraham Cisneros y Pedro Perales. In the English letter Obregón states that the Mexican nationals were not guided by criminal purposes but were only acting in support of their country's struggle for independence. On letterhead stationery of the president of Mexico and signed "A. Obregón."
